About VenueCue™
Built for the people behind the music.
Great events don't just happen.
Behind every successful dance night, karaoke show, or private event is someone keeping everything moving—managing requests, reading the room, adjusting the music, and making sure everyone has a great time.
VenueCue™ was created to make that job easier.
More than just another request system, VenueCue is an event companion that brings requests, event planning, live Playlists, audience communication, and supported DJ software together in one coordinated workflow.
Because the people running the show should be focused on creating great experiences—not managing disconnected lists and screens.
Where It All Started
VenueCue has its roots in the line-dance community.
Line-dance events present unique challenges. Dancers request dances rather than simply songs. A single dance may have multiple associated songs. Different venues have different favorites, and DJs need to balance requests, lessons, and the energy of the dance floor.
And, of course, everyone wants to know what's coming up next.
These challenges highlighted an opportunity for a better approach to event management.
By combining years of experience in the dance community with direct collaboration with DJs and KJs, VenueCue began taking shape as a system designed around the realities of running live entertainment.
The goal wasn't simply to collect requests. It was to help manage the entire event experience.
Built with DJs and KJs, Not Just for Them
From the beginning, VenueCue's development has been guided by conversations and collaboration with working DJs and karaoke hosts.
Understanding their workflows, frustrations, and day-to-day challenges has been essential to creating a system that actually meets their needs.
Rather than expecting entertainment professionals to adapt to a rigid system, VenueCue is designed to adapt to the way they work.
That philosophy continues to drive development, with real-world feedback helping shape features, improvements, and future capabilities.
From the Dance Floor to Every Event
Although line dancing inspired VenueCue, the challenges it addresses extend far beyond the dance floor.
Karaoke hosts manage singer rotations and song requests. Mobile DJs balance audience requests with carefully planned events. DJs running recurring venue nights need to prepare, adapt, and remember what worked.
Every event is different, but the underlying challenge is the same: keeping everything organized while delivering a great experience.
VenueCue brings these pieces together while supporting the unique workflows of different event types.
It works alongside existing DJ and karaoke software rather than trying to replace it.
What We Believe
Built with DJs and KJs, not just for them.
The best tools come from understanding the people who use them. VenueCue is shaped by direct collaboration with entertainment professionals, ensuring that development focuses on real needs rather than assumptions.
The DJ or KJ should always be in control.
Audience requests are important, but they shouldn't dictate the entire event. VenueCue helps hosts understand what their audiences want while maintaining control over the running order.
Technology should simplify, not complicate.
The goal isn't to give DJs another screen to babysit. It's to reduce repetitive work, connect important information, and make event management easier.
The audience is part of the experience.
When guests can easily make requests, see what's playing, and know what's coming next, they spend less time wondering and more time enjoying the event.
Every event deserves the right tools.
A line-dance night, karaoke show, and private party don't operate the same way. VenueCue recognizes those differences and provides workflows suited to each experience.
Meet the Creator
I've been part of the line-dance community for nearly 30 years, both as a dancer and a choreographer. Over those years, I've experienced countless dance nights and developed a deep appreciation for everything that goes into making an event successful.
My background also includes lighting design for theater and church productions, where planning, timing, coordination, and attention to detail are essential to creating a great experience.
These experiences have given me a unique perspective on live entertainment—not just from the production side, but from the audience's point of view.
From the floor, two things kept happening to me. I'd go to put in a request and the paper list would be tied up, with a group slowly writing out theirs while I waited for the clipboard to come back round. And I couldn't hear the DJ call the next dance, so I'd have to wait for the song to start to find out whether it was one worth getting up for.
VenueCue fixes both. Guests request from their phone or a kiosk instead of a clipboard, and a screen shows what's playing now and what's up next—while the DJ or KJ still decides what plays.
When developing VenueCue, I worked closely with DJs and KJs to understand their challenges, workflows, and what they actually need to run successful events. Rather than building a system based on assumptions, I wanted to create something shaped by the people who would use it.
What began with the unique challenges of line-dance events has evolved into an event companion designed for DJs, karaoke hosts, and entertainment professionals across a variety of events.
My goal isn't to change how DJs and KJs do their jobs. It's to give them tools that reduce administrative work, improve communication with their audiences, and let them focus on what matters most: creating a great experience.
VenueCue continues to evolve through real-world feedback and collaboration with the entertainment professionals it was built to support.
